Information we collect and how it is used ...

For each visitor to our web page, our web server automatically recognizes only the consumer's domain name (where possible), but not the e-mail address.

We collect only the domain name, but not the e-mail address of visitors to our webpage, the e-mail addresses of those who post messages to our bulletin board, the e-mail addresses of those who make postings to our chat areas, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit, user-specific information on what pages consumers access or visit, information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our webpage and other resources, used to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor, and not released to individuals or other organizations for any purposes. (The only exception to this policy would be the specified release of information in response to a valid court order.)

With respect to cookies: We use cookies to store visitors preferences; record session information, such as items that consumers add to their shopping cart; record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit; or record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site.

We do not send unsolicited e-mail. However, we do send e-mail newsletters to various MethodX e-mail listservs by request of the user. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please log into your account information page and specify the e-mail lists that you no longer wish to receive.

If, through a purchase of an item from the MethodX bookstore, you supply us with your postal address online you may receive periodic mailings from:

• The Upper Room. The Upper Room, the parent company of MethodX may send you information on new Upper Room products and services or upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by sending an e-mail to marketing@upperroom.org. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will be sure your name is removed from the list that receives periodic mailings.
• Other selected, reputable companies. You can, however, put your name on our do-not-share list by sending e-mail to marketing@upperroom.org. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will be sure your name is removed from the list we share with other organizations.

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us with information regarding orders they have placed online.

With respect to Ad Servers: We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our website periodically.

Your Information

Upon request we provide site visitors with access to unique identifier information (e.g., customer number or password) that we maintain about you; transaction information (e.g., dates on which customers made purchases, amounts and types of purchases) that we maintain about you; contact information (e.g., name, address, phone number) that we maintain about you. You can access your information by visiting your account information page.

Upon request we offer visitors the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information and/or unique identifiers. You can correct this information by visiting your account information page.

With respect to security: We always use industry-standard encryption technologies when transferring and receiving consumer data exchanged with our site. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.

Policies for Children (Under the Age of 13)

While MethodX.net is a website targeted at young adults (ages 18-28), we are in compliance with The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998 provides safeguards to protect children who use the Internet by regulating the online collection of personal information from children under the age of 13. Because of these safeguards, children under 13 are not able to access or use products and services on MethodX.net.
