DEVO OF THE WEEK
Here and There
The Lord is with you, while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you.
2 Chronicles 15:2c (NRSV)
Teenagers are busy. We rush from school to sports to homework. We hang out with friends, go to bed late, wake up early, and do it all again. Sometimes finding fifteen minutes for devotions isn’t possible.
What if, instead of being once-a-day, devos were ongoing? What if throughout the day, we spent a few minutes here and there with God? Consider these ideas:
> Carry a journal or a notebook with you. Write to God
as if you were sending text messages to a friend, telling God your thoughts, fears, ideas, and questions in short, one-sentence increments.
> Keep a small Bible in your locker or backpack, or download a Bible app on your mobile phone. Read when you have a few minutes in study hall, when you’re eating lunch, or when you need a spiritual boost.
> On the way to school, listen to Christian music or messages on your radio or iPod.
Before you know it, you’ll look forward to every spare second you can spend with God. <
