The Way of Grace
This small-group resource invites participants to travel with 8 biblical characters (or groups of characters) who discover God's grace through their encounters with Jesus. More than a survey of biblical stories, it is a transforming interaction with the events and characters from the Gospel of John. This resource may be used by groups prior to experiencing the 28-week Companions in Christ resource. It also is a good study to immediately follow the 28-week resource.
The Way of Grace: Participant's Book
The Way of Grace provides a fresh approach to the Gospel of John. The resource invites us to open our hearts to a deeper knowing of God's grace. It offers a transforming interaction with the events and biblical characters through these weekly themes:
Companionship for the Journey
Come and See
The Gift of Renewal
Being Fully Known
The Will to be Whole
The Need for Intercession
Seeing and Saying the Truth
From Death to Life
The Gift of Restoration
The Way of Grace: Leader's Guide
The Leader's Guide provides complete guidance for each of the weekly meetings, including simple worship experiences for opening and closing times, music suggestions, and list of items needed for each session. All weekly group gatherings follow the same general outline introduced in the original 28-week resource.
"Members of my group were all thirsty to know what grace is, and this resource gave us 8 biblical ancestors to walk with us and guide us through our exploration. The Way of Grace challenged us to look for God's grace in real circumstances and to ask hard questions. Thanks to Upper Room Ministries for again challenging us to think and act out our faith in real ways and in real situations."
- Rev. Marilyn Dickson, Disciples of Christ, Dallas, Texas
"The readings and experiences invited us to wade into the water of God's grace and meet some wonderful characters from John's gospel. We emerged refreshed, renewed, and blessed."
- Rev. Larry Peacock, Malibu United Methodist Church, Malibu, California
